RC Lens was contacted by OM for the position of sports director. Jean-Louis Leca, current sports director of the club, was solicited by the Phocéen club. The Corsican rejected the offer in 48 hours, despite a salary proposed five times higher than what he receives at Lens. Leca estimated he still had things to accomplish at Lens, where his first summer transfer market as sports director had been almost perfect with the arrivals of Samson Baidoo, Mamadou Sangaré, Florian Thauvin, Robin Risser or Matthieu Udol. OM therefore turned to another Corsican, Grégory Lorenzi, whose arrival was officially announced a few days ago. RC Lens confirmed that Jean-Louis Leca would remain in his position as sports director. The club also confirmed that OM's offer had been rejected. RC Lens stated that Jean-Louis Leca was 'very happy' to remain in his position and that OM's offer had been 'very interesting' but he had decided to stay at Lens.
